Ramdev raises team Anna hackles

Hours after Baba Ramdev, an on-off ally of Anna Hazare, hailed Gujarat chief minister Narendra Modi at a public function in Ahmedabad on Sunday, Team Anna members attacked the yoga teacher and branded Modi a ''murderer of humanity''.
''We have never been in agreement with Narendra Modi and never can be. Modi is a murderer of humanity. Ramdev should clarify his position on this,'' said India Against Corruption core committee member Sanjay Singh.
Earlier in the day, sharing a dais with Modi in Ahmedabad, Ramdev gave him a clean chit on corruption. ''Everybody is asking me about corruption in Gujarat, but I couldn't find anything of the sort,'' said Ramdev, adding that Modi ''has done nothing wrong''.
Modi also praised the yoga guru, saying he was doing an ''excellent job'' in the national interest.
Singh's remarks highlight the strain in relations between team Anna and Ramdev, as well as the differences between Hazare and his team.
On Saturday, Ramdev had described team Anna as a motley group of activists who should be evaluated in isolation from Hazare.
