Volkswagen rejigs Indian management

German car maker Volkswagen has effected top level changes in its Indian leadership. Volkswagen India's head John Chacko has been sent to the headquarters of luxury arm Audi AG in Wolfsburg, while the company has appointed Gerasimos Dorizas, so far managing director of Volkswagen Group Sales India Pvt Ltd, as 'chief representative'.
Volkswagen has further appointed Mahesh Kodumudi as president and managing director.
The appointments are effective 1 March, the company said in a statement.
In its statement, the company said Dorizas had joined Volkswagen Group Sales India as Managing Director in 2012.
The statement gave no indication of why Volkswagen had decided to rejig its Indian management.
"John Chacko (60), previously president, managing director and group chief representative of Volkswagen India, is transferring to a responsible position with Audi AG with effect from 1 April," ot said. Chacko has been leading Indian operations since 2010.
