Aarthi Subramanian, currently serving as digital head at Tata Sons, will take over as executive director-president and chief operating officer (COO) of Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) next month.

The appointment is for a term of five years, commencing from 1 May 2025 until 30 April 2030, according to a company filing on the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE).

Aarthi Subramanian currently serves as group chief digital officer at Tata Sons, the holding company and promoter of Tata Enterprises, leading the group's digital, technology and innovation agenda across industries.

With extensive experience in technology and operations at Tata Sons, she has taken particular interest in ensuring that Tata Group companies exploit digital technologies to improve operational efficiency, enhance customer experience, and boost competitive advantage.

Aarthi Subramanian also holds several key board positions within the Tata Group, which include director, Tata Consultancy Services; director, Tata Capital Limited and Tata AIA Life Insurance Company Ltd; director, Infiniti Retail Limited; and director, Tata Digital Private Limited, Supermarket Grocery Supplies Pvt Ltd and Tata UniStore Ltd.

She has been associated with the Tata Group for over three decades, during which she served as executive director and global head of delivery excellence, governance and compliance at TCS.

A computer science graduate from National Institute of Technology, Warangal, Aarthi Subramanian also secured a Master's degree in Engineering Management from the University of Kansas, USA.

She has also received various accolades and awards, including 'Technology Leader of the Year' at ETPrime Women Leadership Awards (2019) and Business Today's `Most Powerful Women in Business’ award (2016).
