C-DOT, Qualcomm team up to stimulate India’s telecom ecosystem

Centre for Development of Telematics (C-DOT), a research institution under the ministry of telecommunications, has signed a memorandum of understanding with Qualcomm Technologies Inc for the development of innovative communication technologies.
Under the proposed strategic partnership, C-DOT and Qualcomm Technologies Inc, a subsidiary of Qualcomm Incorporated, will work towards fostering innovation in India and support India-based developers and start-ups working on innovative products and use cases.
The plan for strategic partnership was announced at the just concluded Mobile World Congress 2024 at Barcelona in Spain.
As per the agreement, Qualcomm Technologies will support C-DOT with expertise and best practices, state-of-the-art technology, intellectual property training and tools.
Besides, the partnership will work towards enabling startups, academia, and OEMs, and fast tracking the development and commercialisation of indigenous telecom products using Qualcomm wireless solutions and technologies.
Through the collaboration, C-DOT and Qualcom Technologies expect to unleash the vast potential of India’s thriving start-up ecosystem and pave way to development of indigenous telecom solutions for the country and the world.
C-DOT has an extensive product portfolio spanning a range of telecom technologies that include switching and routing, optical communication, wireless communication, network security, advanced security-based solutions, internet of things, artificial intelligence, network management etc.
Qualcomm offers scalable communication technologies in advanced connectivity, high-performance, low-power compute, on-device intelligence etc.
