Bombardier secures orders worth $7.8 bn from VistaJet

Leading global manufacturer of business aircraft Bombardier Inc yesterday confirmed a historic agreement valued over $7.8 billion with world leading Swiss luxury aviation company VistaJet Holding SA.
The deal includes supply of 142 Global business jets with firm orders for 56 Global jets and options for a further 86 aircraft. The firm order is approximately $3.1 billion at list prices and the full order is worth more than $7.8 billion.
The VistaJet order tops a major deal which Bombardier executed in June for the supply of 275 Challenger jets at cost of $7.3 billion to NetJets, an aircraft charter unit of Warren Buffet's Berkshire Hathaway Inc.
Montreal-based Bombardier is a manufacturer of airplanes and trains. Bombardier Aerospace occupies a leading position in manufacturing business, regional, specialised and amphibious aircraft, while the transportation wing is a global leader in the rail industry including monorails, light rail vehicles, metros, high-speed trains and locos and control systems.
The company employs around 65,700 people and posted revenues of $18.3 billion in 2011.
The firm order comprises 25 Global 5000, 25 Global 6000 and six Global 8000 jets. The options include 40 aircraft each of Global 5000 and Global 6000 and six Global 8000 planes.
