VistaJet acquires Bombardier's Skyjet
02 Jul 2008
Zurich, Switzerland-based VistaJet Holding announced the successful conclusion of a definitive agreement to acquire Bombardier Aerospace's Skyjet International, a ''global business jet charter service,'' for an undisclosed amount. Conclusion of the deal, according to VistaJet, propels the charter firm to the number-two position outside North America and allows it to expand operations worldwide.
Skyjet has offices in London, Hong Kong and Dubai.
''Today's transaction is a perfect fit; the complementary synergies and strengths are in line with our goal of becoming the world's leading business aviation provider,'' VistaJet chairman Thomas Flohr said.
At the EBACE convention in May, VistaJet placed a $1.2 billion order for 35 Bombardier business jets, including an option for an additional 25 aircraft. Combined with the Skyjet International transaction, VistaJet's fleet will expand to 94 jets by 2012.
The company recently forecast a 50-percent increase in revenues for this year and has ambitious growth goals.
