Hamburg: Lufthanza Technik, a leading global provider of technical support services for aircraft, is currently in negotiations with local parties for a partnership in India.
"We are working. Our strategy is to find a local partner in India. We are in negotiations," Julia Michaelis, the spokesperson for Luthansa Technik, informed media personnel.
Lufthansa Technik is currently running a local operation out of Delhi.
Technik provides a full range of services, from routine maintenance to a complete overhaul, from repair of a single defective component to managing the entire spare parts logistics chain.
According to Julia, Lufthanza Technik now wants to consolidate its presence in fast growing aviation industry in the emerging markets, including India.
"In this growing market, the Lufthansa Technik group is not only a pioneer but also the largest provider. Over half of its more than 26,000 employees work for subsidiaries and affiliated companies outside Germany. They take care of aircraft, engines and components for nearly 750 customers around the globe," she said.
