Bombardier adds second business jet service centre in India

Leading global manufacturers of business aircraft, Canada's Bombardier Inc, has boosted its service network in India by adding a second aircraft maintenance facility in the nation's capital New Delhi, through its partner Air Works India Engineering Pvt Ltd.

Air Works in New Delhi has been named a Line Maintenance Facility (LMF) for Challenger 604, Challenger 605, Global Express and Global Express XRS business jets, the company said in a statement.

The facility will complement Air Works' service center in Mumbai, which has been part of Bombardier's authorised service facility network since 2008.

Bombardier's president, customer services & specialised amphibious aircraft, Eric Martel said, ''The two Air Works facilities are an important part of our overall network in India, anchored by our Mumbai regional support office. We continue to place a heavy focus on growing our local roots in key markets, and are pleased to collaborate with local partners.''

The New Delhi unit, located at the Indira Gandhi International Airport, features an 840-sq.m maintenance hanger. Air Works employs approximately 550 aviation professionals in India including its two main bases in Mumbai and New Delhi.

Air Works vice president Nick White said, ''Developing a healthy working relationship between any original equipment manufacturer (OEM) and its chosen service provider is key in the delivery of best practice maintenance.''
