Air India to commence cargo operations from June 15

New Delhi: Flag carrier, Air India, will commence cargo operations from June 15, initially starting services on the Frankfurt and Paris route. It will eventually cover more destinations as its freighter fleet increases in size.

According to Air India officials, the carrier expects to generate revenues of Rs800 crore in financial year 2007-08, through these operations. With its merger with Indian Airlines now beginning to fructify, the size of the freighter fleet is also expected to increase.
