Acer has launched a range of new TFT (thin-film transistor) monitors in the PC market. The new models - D240H, D241H, B273H, T231H and S243HL - having different features, are targeted at different segments.

"Our strategy of 'Go Big Go Wide' has been the driving force in our endeavor to offer the market bigger and wider form factors, set new standards and add value by bringing out the latest technology first to the market," S Rajendran, chief marketing officer, Acer India, said.

The S243HL model, encased in a stylish black bezel, is a slim and trendy model with white LED technology for power conservation.

The D240H monitor has a built-in digital photo frame function for displaying photos even when the monitor is not connected to the computer. It is equipped with a card reader, and a 1-GB internal storage to save photos in the monitor itself.

The T231H and B273H monitors are ergonomically designed with the B273H especially designed for office usage.

The D241H monitor has been designed to allow access to the internet even without a PC.

"We are confident that with our new maxim of 'Bigger Size & New Technology' coupled with rich features, stylish looks and attractive pricing, these products will find wide acceptance in the Indian market and help Acer maintain its leadership in the segment," Rajendran added.

Acer, already the industry leader in LCD monitors since 2009, plans to augment its current market share of 19.5 per cent with the new launches.
