Mumbai: Aftek Infosys subsidiary Arexera Information Technologies GmbH has entered into a strategic tie-up with Munich-based software major Electroniksystem und Logistik GmbH (ESG). The tie-up is for a period of five years.

Arexera and ESG will jointly offer innovative and individual solutions to die automotive sector, primarily in the area of automotive telematics and embedded technologies. Arexera will be drawing on the company expertise from its development centres in Pune to execute orders from ESG, Aftek said in a filing with the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE).

Automotive telematics is a next generation technology and impacts all aspects of the automotive user experience from human-machine interface, navigation, mapping, traffic information, safety and security aids, mobile internet to remote vehicle diagnostics and control.

Aftek, which claims to be one of the few Indian companies to specialise in automotive telematics, is already providing services in this field to BMW. The strategic alliance between Arexera and ESG is thus the second customer for the Aftek group in the last few months from the automotive vertical.

"Aftek has invested significant resources in developing a world class expertise in cutting edge embedded technologies like automotive telematics. This is now paying rich dividends in the form of client acquisitions like BMW earlier and ESG now," Ranjit Dhuru, chairman of the company said.
