Agilent Technologies, the global leader offering test and measurement solutions to the communications, electronics, life sciences and chemical analysis markets today announced the launch of the first four-channel, 2 GHz digital storage oscilloscope (DSO) that provides engineers with 10 GSa/s performance at the industry's lowest price. In addition, the Agilent 54852A Infiniium 2 GHz DSO and its companion 1130A InfiniiMax probing system have been certified by the USB Implementers Forum as USB 2.0 compliance test tools.

The 2 GHz DSO with USB 2.0 compliance testing capabilities has an acquisition memory depth of up to 1 Mpts per channel and sampling rates up to 10 GSa/s on all four channels, eliminating the frustrations of sluggish responsiveness associated with previous deep-memory oscilloscopes. With this launch the R&D engineers in India, in the computer, communications, defence and semiconductor industries can build and purchase a USB 2.0 compliance test system for a greater than 20 percent savings as compared to competitive offerings.

Speaking on the launch,. Shankar Roy Chowdhury, marketing manager, Agilent Technologies, said, "The newest member of our Infiniium product line of digital storage oscilloscopes is particularly suited for the Indian market as it provides customers with 10 GSa/s sampling performance at a 5 GSa/s price, which will speed the development and deployment of their products at a significant cost savings.

" We are committed to providing our customers exceptional value, and this new product allows engineers operating under tight budgets to benefit from the performance of Agilent Infiniium oscilloscopes," he added.

As a USB 2.0 compliance test tool, the Agilent 54852A 2 GHz DSO gives engineers insight into their designs far earlier in the development process, helping to ensure their designs will meet USB 2.0 specifications before the final products are sent to independent compliance test labs. This lowers test costs, reduces manufacturing risks and speeds time to market of new products such as computers, peripherals and other electronic devices.

The four-channel 2 GHz DSO features a Microsoft® Windows® interface, which gives users easy access to advanced features and applications such as serial data analysis with clock recovery and jitter analysis. The My Infiniium application integration package allows customization of the scope's menu system so that custom analysis, measurements, or third-party Windows applications can be called from anywhere in Infiniium menu structure. In addition, users can install and run vector signal analysis software in the Agilent 54852A to provide powerful, flexible, wideband signal analysis for applications including wide band communications and modulated radar.
