Airtel creates buzz around Champions League Twenty 20

The key sponsor for Champions League Twenty 20 tournament, Airtel, has launched a marketing campaign to create buzz around the event beginning 10 September.

It has started the contest, 'Real Fan' on YouTube for Twenty 20 fans and has partnered with search engine Google for the same.

As per the content, Fans need to demonstrate their passion for the sport in a video and then upload it on www.youtube.com/airtelt20. They would then have to share the video on social networking sites Facebook, Twitter, Orkut and get people to vote for them.

The fan whose video that garners the most views win a trip to South Africa to watch the championship finals live.

The content has already seen 500 video uploads and 70,000 page views.

Besides the contest, Airtel has also launched a 360 degrees communication campaign for the event.

The campaign will be led by a three-series TVC produced by Bang Bang Films, which started airing on 15 August.
 
Airtel will also engage in below the line activities in the cities of Mumbai, Chennai and Hyderabad, from where teams are participating, to target the youth.
