Bharti Airtel customers will now be credited back half of data used by them during the night, and will also be able to download unlimited songs and five movies per month on its Wynk mobile application for free.

This offer comes as part of the company's strategy to attract more smartphone users to its network.

Airtel customers will get daily morning credit of 50 per cent of data, be it 2G, 3G or 4G, that they consume between 12:00 am to 6:00 am.

While Airtel has launched the data cash back offer for pre-paid customers, the same will be extended to post-paid customers within a week, Bharti Airtel director for consumer business Srini Gopalan said.

"Smartphones are going to drive Digital India. A person who provides best smartphone experience and services will ultimately benefit from it. Usage in night on telecom networks is least utilised. We are passing on to customers the benefit of low utilisation time," Gopalan said.

They just need to send an SMS to 121 or give a missed call to 55555 or log in to myAirtel app to opt in for the offer.

Airtel has also extended 3G and 4G data sharing facility among family members for pre-paid customers which was earlier available for post-paid customers.

Talking about making unlimited music download free at Wynk application, Gopalan said, "It is a step taken to break back of piracy which is why we have waived off subscription fee. The experience of pirated music is awful."

To avail free subscription, Airtel customers need to download and start using Wynk application using their mobile network and later they can use it on Airtel wi-fi network as well.

However, data charges will apply as per plan of customers on downloading music.

Apart from the data cashback and family data share, Airtel also launched the Smartphone Surprise offer.

Under this offer, customers who upgrade their mobile devices on Airtel pre-paid will be entitled to get gifts ranging from double data benefits, free data for up to a year, tablets, Bluetooth speakers, headsets, etc.

The offer is available for both existing and new customers and all pre-paid customers buying a smartphone from online portal Snapdeal will get additional onetime offer of Rs750 off on the device.
