Gearing up for the festive buying season, Amazon.in has announced the launch of its first ever seller conference. Called 'Amazon Connect', it provides sellers with an integrated platform to interact closely with Amazon.in's senior leadership, better understand the company's seller-centric products and services, share and learn from their fellow sellers, get a sneak peek into upcoming innovations and understand emerging trends in ecommerce.

The objective of this programme is to enable sellers to grow profitably on Amazon.in starting with the upcoming festive season. Close to 200 sellers across the country attended the inaugural programme held in New Delhi recently.

Elaborating on the programme, Gopal Pillai, director and general manager, seller services, Amazon India, said, ''Employing a seller backwards approach like always, our new initiative Amazon Connect has been specifically created with the intention of closely interacting with our seller community on our products and services. We recognize and value their contribution towards making Amazon.in a preferred online shopping destination and are delighted to honour our key performing sellers across various categories.

''Through our comprehensive suite of services such as Fulfilment by Amazon, Easy Ship, Seller Flex, etc., we constantly strive to help the seller community to grow profitably.  We look forward to seeking valuable feedback from our sellers to innovate our services to meet their requirements in the best possible way. With the festive period around the corner, we are positive that through Amazon Connect we will empower sellers to catalyse their growth on our platform.''

Speaking on the frequency of such programs, Gopal added, ''We have seen an overwhelming response in this chapter. We have plans to continue and grow these occurrences to best cater to all relevant segment of sellers on Amazon.in.''

The first Amazon Connect event also comprised of a felicitation ceremony for sellers who performed well on the marketplace, who in the first half of 2016 have substantially grown their business and met Amazon's high bar of quality customer experience consistently.
