Another gaming mobile from Nokia

The latest in the series of high-end multimedia mobiles from Nokia is the N85. Using the now familiar 2-way slider design, the latest N-Series offering from Nokia has got a plethora of features to woo the discerning buyer.

A brilliant 2.6'' display with a resolution of 320 x 240 pixels (QVGA), with active matrix OLED Technology, enhances your viewing experience. This is a Symbian OS phone featuring the Symbian S60 3rd edition, feature pack 2.

You've got dedicated media and camera keys and a naviwheel to scroll through your menu and applications.  Of course, you also have the voice commands feature. You also get decent on-board memory of up to 150 MB and a microSD slot, hot swappable, which can take memory cards of up to 8GB (included in the box).

The BL-5K 1200mAh Li-Ion battery gives excellent talk time and excellent multimedia playback time.  You can easily watch 2 full-length Bollywood movies or 3 Hollywood flicks on a single charge. This is a Quad-band phone with GPRS, EDGE, HSDPA, WLAN, Bluetooth 2.0 and A-GPS with Nokia Maps.

You can play a variety of audio and video formats, including MPEG4, WMV, Flash Video, Real Video, mp3, wma, aac, etc.  You also have FM Radio. All these can be enjoyed with your favourite pair of headphones/earphones thanks to the universally accepted 3.5 mm audio jack. The Nokia N-Series digital music player helps you to organise your music based on artist, album, composer and genre. You can further personalise it with skins and the equaliser.

Coming to Photography, you get a 5 megapixel camera with CMOS sensor, Carl Zeiss optics, Tessar lens with 20x digital zoom, autofocus and dual LED flash. As already mentioned there is a dedicated camera key to access the camera. There is a slide cover for lens protection.

You can record video at 640 x 480 pixels max (VGA) up to 30fps for a maximum of one and a half hours.  You have on-board options to edit your photos and videos before uploading them to share with your friends. You can also view your photos and videos on your TV with the Nokia connectivity cable, which is included in the box.

The e-mail function features support for IMAP, POP3, SMTP and e-mail with attachments.  The PIM, call and SMS features are also exhaustive, with nothing left out.

The N-Gage application is included and a lot of try and buy games are included, with a free full licence for one of them.

At about 25K, this is a great buy for a multimedia phone with superb specs.
