Apple working on electric car: reports

13 Feb 2015

Apple is working on a car that would ''give Tesla a run for its money'', marketbusinessnews.com reported citing various sources.

It is said that the iPhone maker was working on an actual car and not just a service for carmakers to use.

According to Bryan Chaffin, co-founder of Apple news site The Mac Observer, he knew ''a lot of people at the top in Silicon Valley consider it a given that Apple is working on a car.''

Apple and Tesla had been engaged in a hiring war in recent months and there were reports recently that Tesla hired over 150 former Apple employees, while LinkedIn said Apple had 50 former Tesla workers.

Apple had already made a number of moves into the motor industry and had worked and partnered with numerous automakers with the launch of services such as CarPlay.
