'Audi quattro Cup' golf tournament débuts in India

Mumbai: German luxury car maker, Audi, has announced the inaugural Indian edition of Audi quattro Cup. The Audi quattro Cup ranks among the world's major and most popular tournament series for amateur golfers.

The inaugural Indian tournament will feature over 200 amateur golfers at two national leg events at DLF Golf & Country Club, Gurgaon (22 August  2008) and Eagleton Golf Resort, Bangalore (6 September 2008).

The winners will qualify for participation in the Audi quattro Cup world finals to be staged at the Golf Resort ABAMA on the Canarian Island of Tenerife from 17 October to 21 October 2008.

The 2008 event marks the 18th edition of this internationally acclaimed tournament series. The qualification tournaments for teams comprising  two players in each team are held between April and September. Also  known as ''foursomes with selection drive,'' the qualifying rounds are organised in association with the respective regional Audi partners.

Around the world, the Audi quattro Cup ranks among the biggest and most popular amateur tournament series. In 2007, Audi partners from over 40 countries around the globe organised over 700 tournaments. More than 80,000 amateur golfers participated in these competitions.
