B. Ramalinga Raju, conferred Lifetime Achievement Award by Hyderabad Management Association

Hyderabad: The Hyderabad Management Association (HMA) has honored B. Ramalinga Raju, founder and chairman of Satyam Computer Services, with the prestigious 'lifetime achievement award' for 2005. K. Rosaiah finance minister, Andhra Pradesh presented the award to Raju.

Raju was selected for the award for his "unprecedented contribution to the Indian IT Industry, not only in India but also on the global IT platform".

Speaking on the occasion, Raju, said, "Today, India is becoming a significant player in global commerce and trade and Information Technology continues to play a vital role in making this happen. It is encouraging to note that IT is seeping into every facet of our society today, including the common man in villages."

Among the past recipients of the 'lifetime achievement award", instituted in 2000 by HMA, had distinguished winners in the past, such as Dr Anji Reddy, chairman, Dr Reddy's Laboratories; Gen K V Krishna Rao, PVSM (Retd), former governor, J&K; and Justice K Jayachandra Reddy, chairman, Press Council of India.
