Mumbai: The Tata group, with its company Tata Infomedia Ltd(TIL), will be co-producing a big-budget movie starring Amitabh Bachchan and model-turned-actress Bipasha Basu.

Titled Aitbaar, this maiden Tata venture will be directed by Vikram Bhatt and produced under the banner of Cutting Edge Entertainment, a new division set up by Tata Infomedia specially for the purpose.

The shooting of the film, which is slated for a mid-2003 release, was delayed due to financial difficulties faced by co-producer Jatin Kumar, son of noted filmmaker and actor Sujit Kumar. “We were impressed with the script and its storyline and when the opportunity to participate in the project arose, we quickly opted to produce it with Jatin,” says Tata Infomedia vice-chairman and managing director H S Billimoria.

He says Aitbaar is a romantic story, which also features model John Abraham. Popular music director Rajesh Roshan will compose the music for the film. However, the company has not disclosed the production cost of the film.

Cutting Edge Entertainment, headed by Mandeep Singh, is also developing other scripts for future Tata projects and expects to have three to four films on the floor within a short period.
