Bajaj Auto launches 180cc Pulsar in Indonesia

Mumbai: India's two-wheeler automotive company, Bajaj Auto Limited, has launched its first product in Indonesia, Bajaj Pulsar DTS-i (Digital Twin Spark Ignition), a 180cc sports motorcycle. The launch of Pulsar DTS-i marks the entry of Bajaj Auto in Indonesia.

Our entry into Indonesia is part of our global plans to help us move from the 4th largest two-wheeler manufacturer in the world to the 3rd largest. As part of this plan, we are launching the hugely successful, top of the line motorcycle, Bajaj Pulsar DTSi in Indonesia."said Sanjiv Bajaj, executive director, Bajaj Auto Limited.

As a first step to promote the Bajaj Pulsar DTS-i, it has decided to sponsor the Jakarta Motor Show as main sponsor.

According to KS Grihapathy, president director of PT Bajaj Auto, Indonesia "Pulsar DTS-i is one of our best products. It was originally launched in India in the year 2001. So far, there are more than 1.3 million Pulsars are running on the road in various countries all around the world. In India, Pulsar has always been the market leader in the 150cc plus segment with 60 per cent market share. Today, we are very proud to introduce the most uptodate and innovative Pulsar to Indonesian consumers."

Bajaj Auto is optimistic that Pulsar DTS-i will be able to compete with other sport motorcycles in Indonesia. The Bajaj Pulsar DTS-i will be launched in two variants, cast wheel (CW) and spoke wheel (SW). It will be available in four colour options, Ebony Black, Wine Red, Long Beach Blue and Titanium Silver. The on the road price in Jabotabek will be Rp 16,500,000 for CW and Rp 15,000,000 for SW. Bajaj Auto will give a 3 year / 30,000 km warranty.

To ensure consumer reach and customer satisfaction, Bajaj Auto has appointed main dealers in Jabotabek and East Java in the first phase. By the end of the year, there will be 50 service centers spreading across Java.
