The latest Ipsos PAX survey (Q1 2013) has named BBC World News as India's leading international English news channel.

In addition to being named the top cross platform news brand among frequent travelers and business elite such as top management, BBC is the only international news brand in India to show cross-platform audience growth quarter-on-quarter.

In a statement BBC said, "BBC World News also continues to reach the young affluent population, with over half of the channel's viewers falling into the 25-39 age groups."

Among top managers, BBC World News also outperforms India's leading national channels from other genres, including Hindi and English General Entertainment, sport, and music channels.

The statement quoted Jim Egan, chief executive officer, BBC Global News Ltd, ''The sustained growth of BBC World News and BBC.com/news in India is a testament to our continued investment in bringing our international audience unrivalled, trusted journalism and content. The channel's move to its new headquarters in Central London earlier this year was an exciting step to giving our viewers access to state-of-the-art HD studios, fresh programming and talent and we're proud that our audience in India is responding to those changes.''

The Ipsos PAX study surveys international and local media consumption and product consumption among affluent adults and business professionals in the cities of Mumbai, Delhi and Bangalore.

According to BBC, it attracts a weekly global audience of 256 million people to its international news services including BBC World Service, BBC World News television channel and bbc.com/news.
