Boeing, Wipro, HCL and IISc to develop aerospace network technologies

New Delhi: Boeing has entered into an agreement with Wipro Technologies and HCL Technologies, two leading Indian information technology companies, as well as the Indian Institute of Science (IISc), a premiere Indian educational and research institution, to develop wireless and other network technologies for aerospace-related applications.

The agreement, signed by representatives from Boeing Co, IISc's Society for Innovation and Development, Wipro and HCL will see the formation of the Aerospace Network Research Consortium (ANRC).

The Boeing-led ANRC will be India's first public-private aerospace research consortium and will initially be a four-year collaborative effort. The agreement, however, can be extended as desired by the partners.

The financial terms of the agreement have not been disclosed.

Boeing said that it would be represented in the consortium by researchers from its advanced R&D unit, the Boeing Phantom Works, and also the Commercial Airplanes division.
