Taking competition to its rivals's camp state-run telecom service provider Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) has made an irresistible offer of 20 GB pack of 3G data for just Rs50. Not just that, this can be shared by four others anywhere in India for free.

Against this, telecom operators in the private sector currently offer charge Rss160-250 for 1 GB of 3G data.

BSNL is offering this service with a subsidy from the government's 'Digital India' scheme that aims to promote the use of internet across various sections of people and the different areas of the country.

BSNL's data pack and the prospects of competitive pricing by Reliance Jio, which will soon be launching 4G services across the country could force the other players in the market to slash data rates.

Besides, BSNL has launched a very attractive scheme under which it offers a WiFi broadband modem at Rs1,500 with 100 per cent cashback offer.

Under the scheme, new broadband customers who subscribe under a Broadband plan with monthly charges of Rs700 and above, will be able to purchase the broadband modem from BSNL at Rs1,500.

Such customers, will be given Rs100 per month as cashback for 15 months. BSNL is also offering warranty support for the modem for a five-year period without any additional charges.

This scheme will be available till 30 June 2016 across all its telecom circles, BSNL said.
