Public sector BSNL, India's largest land line telephone provider, today rolled out its 3G additional video services on Ericsson's video gateway platform covering the eastern region.

With this launch, BSNL, India's sixth largest cellular service  provider, with over 57.22 million customers, has become the first operator in the country to launch 3G video telephony services.

3G video telephony services provide high speed internet services through BSNL's 3G mobile and packet networks like round the clock video on demand, mobile TV and video conference from all over eastern India.

BSNL said the following services are available to its subscribers at an affordable rate:

Dial a TV service that allows the user to watch live television channel by dialling a short code from the mobile for that channel, which makes it easier for the user to access mobile TV without having GPRS configuration in the 3G handset.

Under BSNL's Hello TV, one can access 32 live TV channels, which has news, entertainment, music, sports and devotional channels.
