BSNL targets Rs3,202 crore from enterprise segment for FY 2011-12

State-run telecom company, BSNL which is bullish on its enterprise segment has set a target of Rs3,202 crore from it for the current financial year.

"Our scheme launched today for paramilitary jawans is part of enterprise business division. We expect revenue of this segment to reach Rs3202 crore in FY'12," RK Upadhyay, chairman and managing director, of BSNL said.

The BSNL chief was speaking on the sidelines of a function to announce special tariff plans for paramilitary forces. Under the two plans announced, members of paramilitary forces would be able to talk free for 20 minutes on any two BSNL numbers across the country with the facility made available free of cost even on roaming.

"Jawans at some locations cannot go to their homes even in emergency situations because the road connectivity is blocked. Phone is the only medium they connect with their family. We highly appreciate this welcome gesture of BSNL," Raman Srivastava , director general, Border Security Forces said.

Additionally, the new plan would offer reduced calling charges of 20 paise per minute on any two BSNL numbers, mobile or landline for the jawans.

The Paramilitary Plan would be available on both 2G and 3G networks and on 3G networks, paramilitary personnel would be offered video calls at the rate 70 paise per minute.
