Chandresh Nigam joins PruICICI as senior fund manager (equity)

Mumbai: Chandresh Nigam will join Prudential ICICI Asset Management Company (PIAMC) in July 2003 as senior fund manager (equity), reporting to Dileep Madgavkar, chief investment officer. Nigam is a mechanical engineer form IIT-Delhi and is an alumnus of the IIM-Calcutta Class of 1991.

He began his career with SBI Caps, and since 1993 has been associated with Zurich Asset Management Company. In his 10 years with Zurich he handled various funds; his last assignment was managing Zurich''s three flagship equity funds with an aggregate corpus of Rs 3.3 billion (Zurich India Equity Fund, Zurich India Capital Builder and Zurich India Tax Saver).

PIAMC is investment manager to the largest private sector mutual fund in India, the Prudential ICICI Mutual Fund. PIAMC enjoys the strong parentage of the ICICI group, a well-known and trusted name in financial services in India and the Prudential group of UK, one Britain''s largest players in the insurance and fund management business.
