Chevrolet Captiva bags SUV of the year award

Mumbai: The premium sports utility vehicle from General Motors India, Chevrolet Captiva,  has won the "SUV of the Year" award at the NDTV Profit-Car & Bike India Awards 2009.

Launched at the New Delhi 9th Auto Expo 2008, the Captiva has sold over 2,500 units sold in a little over 12 months since launch. Coming on the heels of wins such as Business Standard Motoring's Import Car of the Year, UTVi-Autocar India's Best SUV award and CNBC TV 18 Overdrive's SUV of the Year, this NDTV Profit-Car & Bike Award is the Captiva's fourth win in a row.

Upbeat on the commendable achievement, P Balendran, Vice President, General Motors India, said, "We have bagged these prestigious accolades because of GM India's focus on our valuable Chevrolet consumers and our commitment to offer best-in-class products and services. We will continue to leverage the momentum gained and build on the inherent strengths of our products in the future as well."

It may also be recalled that the new Captiva Automatic+ with all-wheel drive and additional exciting features, was launched in New Delhi recently to augment the success story of its manual geared, two-wheel drive sibling.
