Coca Cola retains top spot in Interbrand's 100 best global brands

Beverage brand, Coca-Cola has retained the top spot at Interbrand's annual ranking of the 100 'Best Global Brands' for the 11thconsecutive year.

IBM, Microsoft, Google and GE followed Coca-Cola as the top five brands in the list.

According to Interbrand, Coca-Cola is valued at $70,452 million (more than  Rs3,24,000 crore) in 2010, which is up from a valuation of $68,734 million in 2009.

Lemon-flavoured soft-drink from the Coca Cola Company, Sprite also made a debut in the list at the 61st position.

Brand consultancy firm, Interbrand publishes the ranking of the top 100 brands after analyzing the many ways a brand touches and benefits an organisation, from attracting top talent to delivering on customer expectation.

Three key aspects that contribute to a brand's value include financial performance of the branded products or services, the role of brand in the purchase decision process and the strength of the brand to continue to secure earnings for the company.

Coca-Cola India products portfolio includes Coca-Cola, Diet Coke, Thums Up, Fanta, Limca, Sprite, Maaza, Maaza Milky Delite, Minute Maid Pulpy Orange, Minute Maid Nimbu Fresh, Minute Maid Mixed Fruit, Minute Maid Apple, Georgia, Georgia Gold, Kinley, Kinley Club Soda and Burn.
