Coffee Day Fresh & Ground launches its first filter coffee retail outlet in Mumbai

08 May 2012

Coffee Day Fresh & Ground, India's largest coffee powder retail store chain, has launched its first retail outlet in Mumbai, at Bhandarkar Road, Matunga East, as part of its expansion across western India.

The company plans to enhance its presence in western India, which, the company says, is witnessing tremendous growth in consumption of coffee both in-home and out-of-home.

The new outlet in Mumbai is Fresh & Grounds' second outlet in Maharashtra after its first outlet in Pune. The Mumbai outlet will offer six of the brand's exquisite blends of powdered filter coffee that will be custom ground for the customer.

The company also offers accessories like coffee filters, mugs, etc, and some unique tea blends will also be available at the outlet.

Speaking on the occasion, CJ Jayanth, president, Coffee Day Fresh & Ground, said, ''Coffee powder consumption in India has been growing at a rate 10-12 per cent in the last few years and will increase by 20-30 per cent in the next five years. We are seeing strong growth opportunities ahead, and this is the right time for us to make the most of it through expansion. Mumbai being a big market for coffee with strong growth potential, we decided to enter this market. We are targeting 10 Fresh & Ground outlets in the next year and once strongly established in this city, we will expand to other cities across Maharashtra. With our rich experience in the coffee growing and retailing business, we are confident of strategically expanding our network while continuing to maintain the freshness and taste of our filter coffee powders.''

In addition to providing a large range of filter coffee powders, Coffee Day Fresh & Ground also enhances the coffee drinking experience by providing its own  coffee brewing equipment called 'Kaapi Guru'. The Kaapi Guru created exclusively for hoteliers extracts a consistent coffee decoction added with milk and sugar resulting in an exceptional brew – an authentic South Indian filter coffee.
