Mumbai: A recent raid on a spurious pumps-and-motors manufacturer (Renu Electricals at Jogeshwari, a northwest Mumbai borough) has yielded spurious products comprising monobloc pumpsets of 7.5 HP and 5.5 HP ratings, in addition to Crompton Greaves logo-casting nameplates.

The traders in question have been taken into custody by the city crime branch and their establishments have been locked and sealed.

In the recent past, raids have been conducted in more than a dozen locations, including Mumbai, Nagpur and Delhi, which have yielded spurious products branded with the Crompton Greaves name.

The company will continue to be customer-centric by conducting such raids regularly all over India. In the interest of customers, Crompton Greaves advises that their products should be bought from authorised dealers only.

In the interest of its wide customer base spread all over the country, Crompton Greaves have specially set up a ‘brand protection cell,’ which functions under the guidance of the corporate legal department to actively pursue spurious products manufactured and branded as Crompton Greaves products.

The menace of spurious goods has in the recent past infiltrated into several Crompton Greaves product categories — fans, tube lights, light fittings, lighting accessories, motors and pumps.
