Ford India suspends sales and test drives of Figo and Aspire

22 Apr 2016

Ford India had suspended the sales and test drives of the Figo and Aspire due to an issue with the 'restraint control module' that might affect the functioning of the airbag, The Financial Express reported in its online edition.

While sales of the two models would remain suspended till the issue was fixed, the company also plans to recall 40,000 units of both the cars that it had sold.

The recalled cars would undergo checks over the issue and would be delivered to customers as soon as it was fixed.

Customers would be informed individually  and the software related issue would be sorted free of cost. The entire inspection process and upgradation would be done in a few hours time.

Vehicle sales would be expected to resume by the end of this week or the next week, as the company was expecting to get to complete the inspection of all the cars, sold and unsold, within this week itself.
