Ford India widens marketing efforts with three new dealerships

Ford India has announced opening of three new dealerships, with two in the north at Ambala in Punjab and Varanasi in UP and one in the north east at Siliguri. All the dealerships are built according to Ford's global standards.

The selction highlights Ford India's focus on expanding in tier 2 and tier 3 cities.

''Our priority this year is to actively build strong business fundamentals to support our expansion plans," says Michael Boneham, president and managing director, Ford India. "2009 will see us strategically getting closer to consumers and increase penetration in Tier 2 and 3 cities to accommodate new product offerings and grow our product portfolio in the future.'' 

The dealerships are tastefully designed with separate sales counters, a children's play area and a customer lounge and will display all the Ford models including the Ikon, Fusion, Endeavour and Fiesta. Another hallmark will be the service offerings such as Ford Accessories, Spares, Extended Warranty and Insurance.

The showroom environment fostered in the dealerships encourages customers to familiariae themselves with the vehicles, get a demonstration from sales consultants, and also avail a test drive of their favorite Ford vehicle, enabling them to make a well informed purchase decision.

While the two dealerships in the north, Pearl Ford at Ambala and GSR Ford in Varanasi , were inaugurated back-to-back, Gateway Ford in Siliguri was inaugurated over the weekend.

With this Ford now has  135 dealerships in 78 cities in India. ''We will also ensure that Ford's message on our competitive cost of ownership gets out to customers who are making buying decision,'' added Boneham.
