Ford opens vehicle personalisation centre near Chennai

Ford has opened a vehicle personalisation centre in India, where new EcoSport buyers would be able to customise their cars. The Times of India reported.

"The centre will offer a host of vehicle personalisation options to give Ford customers the 'power of choice' that further enhance the great value proposition of the Ford EcoSport," the company said in a statement.

Located close to Ford India's Chennai factory, the vehicle personalisation centre is spread over 35,000 square feet and is the first such Ford-operated unit in Asia Pacific region.

"Customers today view vehicles as an extension of their own personalities and are keen to customise their cars to stand out from the clutter. Our customers today are socially conscious who don't compromise and want things done their way. They desire for enhanced levels of personalisation to make vehicles look distinctly theirs," said John Cooper, vice president Customer Service Division at Ford Asia Pacific.

"Adding to the overall brand ownership experience, we will provide customers peace of mind through premium quality customization options that they can trust without compromising on safety, quality or vehicle warranties."

The centre would have 19 ergonomically designed modification bays operated by Ford's trained technicians to deliver the level of trust and quality expected from Ford vehicles.

"Our company is committed to design innovative solutions that delight customers by delivering 'what they want and value'.

Our innovation-led approach has helped us democratize in-car technologies and offer unique service packages that deliver class-leading cost of ownership. The Vehicle Personalisation Centre is an extension of this customer-centric innovation," Cooper added.

This centre is also Asia-Pacific's first facility of the kind operated by Ford-operated.

For starters, the vehicle personalisation centre would offer three customisation options on the EcoSport which include a spare wheel (cover) pack for all EcoSport variants, an alloy pack that offering premium quality alloys and rear-spoiler for EcoSport's Ambiente and Trend trims, a sports pack that includes a rear-spoiler, LED scuff plate, roof cross-bar for EcoSport's Titanium and Titanium (O) trims. According to Cooper the company would expand the personalisation centre's offering offerings later this year.
