Ford unveils eighth generation of Falcon

Ford has unveiled the eighth generation Falcon. Ford replaces the BF - series with its new Falcon sedan and Ute range, with claims of more power and less fuel consumption.

The pricing of the new car is yet to be revealed and it will not be out for sales until May. Ford shoppers can now choose between three broad ranges, each sporting a unique look.

The FG base model starts with the petrol XT sedan. It can be ordered as an optional E-gas LPG model. Within G-series, the sports luxury has three models - the G6, G6E and G6E Turbo.

Then there is the XR performance range, consisting of the XR6, XR6 Turbo and the XR8 V8 model. The Ute range consists of 'Falcon Ute', sportier R6, XR6, XR6 Turbo and XR8 V8.

Ford also claims that it is the safest Falcon with four airbags.
