GE Capital to launch Genius sales intelligence mobile app in Australia

07 Jun 2013

General Electric Co's financial arm GE Capital is preparing to launch its 'Genius' productivity application in Australia, a mobile app that gives real time sales intelligence to field sales people.

In September 2012 the crowd in San Francisco looked impressed when Apple CEO Tim Cook unveiled the light and svelte iPhone 5.

The crowd was more impressed when Cook flashed on stage the GE Genius app, the business app, which helps GE Capital's sales teams access customer information and gather real time market intelligence when on the field.

The Genius app integrates with Google maps, LinkedIn, real-time financial data, Salesforce CRM and business news, which gives sales reps information in real-time that previously took around a day to collect.

Matt Mansour,  managing director at GE Capital, digital, told Australia's FST Media that  the company would use geolocation data to help field sales reps at events work out where prospects were, and even where sales reps from competitor firms were.

itnews quoted Mansour as saying, combining customer financial data, LinkedIn profiles and geotagging gave sales reps the kind of information in real-time that previously took around a day to gather.

He added GE Capital's mobility strategy has also helped it get new productivity out of legacy systems, and dissclosed that it took one system for a credit application that required sales reps and customers to complete 30-40 different fields, and reduced it to a basic mobile application.
