GE Healthcare acquires VersaMed Corporation

GE Healthcare, has announced  having completed its acquisition of VersaMed Corporation, a provider of portable critical care ventilators for respiratory care. The financial terms of the acquisition was not disclosed.

The expertise and knowledge, combined with the global reach of  GE  Healthcare and VersaMed will create significant added value for our customers, bringing new technologies to healthcare professionals worldwide.

The two businesses will now offer key respiratory care facilities of exceptional value to healthcare  professionals with a broad selection of ventilation solutions and services to meet a variety of patient needs and care settings.

VersaMed develops the iVent line of advanced life support ventilator, which are compact, easy-to-use and portable and serve a wide range of care settings. The iVent family of ventilators are sold  in hospitals for acute and sub-acute care, emergency transport and in the home.

The iVent201 has already been selected by a number of government and healthcare organisations as a key part of their pandemic and other emergency preparedness plans.
