GE renews deal with Mahindra Satyam

General Electric has extended its multi-million dollar contract with India's IT services firm Mahindra Satyam for the next three years, the company said in a release from its Hyderabad headquarters on Thursday.

Among Satyam's top five customers for over a decade, GE is supported by Satyam in the specialised areas of application development maintenance, business intelligence and engineering services. The contract renewal is a minor triumph for Mahindra Satyam, the new name of the scam-hit Satyam Computer Services after it was taken over by Tech Mahindra, the IT arm of the Mahindra group.

The New York-based GE has similar contract with 11 other technology vendors worldwide.

"We recognise the support extended over the years by Satyam and their commitment to delivery excellence even during trying times," GE's global development centre leader Steve Morrison said.

Arvind Malhotra, global account executive of Mahindra Satyam, added, "This extension is a testimony to the commitment our associates have demonstrated, and truly symbolises the value we have been able to add through our services. We thank the leadership at GE for having reposed their confidence in us, and reinforce our resolve to excel in our deliverables to our esteemed partner, for years to come."
