GMDC in fluorspar JV with Gujarat Fluorochemicals and Navin Florine

Gujarat Mineral Development Corporation Ltd (GMDC) has entered into a joint venture agreement with Gujarat Fluorochemicals Ltd and Navin Florine International Ltd for setting up a fluorspar beneficiation project.

The joint venture will form a separate company in which GMDC will own 50 per cent equity, GMDC said in a filing with the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE).

Gujarat government-run GMDC is in the midst of setting up several projects jointly with in private entrepreneurs. These include a memorandum of understanding with Binani Zinc Ltd and Rajasthan State Mines and Mineral Development Corporation Ltd for setting up a beneficiation plant for lead, zinc and copper, based on the deposits of Ambaji, Deri and Basantgarh.

The joint venture company has already been incorporated in the name of  RBG Minerals Industries Limited.

GMDC executed an MoU with Ashapura Minechem Ltd for setting up an alumina plant based on bauxite deposits in Kutch as also a joint venture with Aluchem Inc of US for setting up of Alumina plant based on bauxite deposits from regions other than the Kutch district.
