GMR synchronises 350 MW Kamalanga unit with central grid

GMR group has synchronised the first unit of its 3x350 MW coal-based power project at Kamalanga, near Dhenkanal in Odisha.

This is the second coal-based power plant to be synchronised by GMR, the company said in a filing with the stock exchanges.

Work on commissioning the second and third unit of the Kamamlanga project is in progress, the release said.

The project has been implemented on multiple packages concept and is the first IPP in Odisha under MoU to have synchronised with the central grid.

The project is expected to cater to the power needs of various states, including Odisha.

Bangalore-based GMR Group is a global infrastructure major with interests in airports, energy, highways and urban infrastructure, working mostly in the public-private partnership model.
