Google is expected to launch its second generation Nexus 7 tablet in India today Zee News reports. The report quoted media reports as saying the internet giant had timed the launch of the device before Apple launched its iPad Mini with retina and iPad Air.

Reports had it that the second-generation Nexus 7 tablet would cost Rs25,999 in India for the 32GB Wi-Fi and 4G variant, according to Zee News.

The new Nexus 7 features a new more powerful and better graphics processor, and the device is about  twice as fast with its Qualcomm's 1.5GHz Snapdragon S4 Pro processor.

The new Nexus 7 would also be the first device to feature the 4.3 version of its Android software. The new Nexus 7 tablet comes with a higher-definition 17.5 centimetre display screen that promises a retina-quality display. Nexus 7 boasts higher pixel density (323 pixels per inch vis-à-vis 216 the old model).

Given that the Google Nexus 7 does not come with micro SD support, meaning users would have to make do with the existing model, users who require more storage space would have to buy the higher-end model.

The device comes with a 5-megapixel rear camera, which is reportedly not the best of its kind though.

The new Nexus 7 features dual stereo speakers (on either side of the table), which make for a richer audio experience.

Meanwhile, the recently launched Google Nexus 5 is not available for pre-order on online retailing site snapdeal at Rs28,999 for 16GB and Rs32,999 for 32GB variants. The device is set to be released by the last week of this month, according to reports.
