Grasim Q1 cement production up 17.43%

Mumbai:
Grasim, the Aditya Birla group flagship company, has reported
a rise of 17.43 per cent in cement production at 40.38
lakh metric tonnes (mt) for the period April-July 2002
as against 34.39 lakh mt in April-July 2001.
Dispatches moved up by 17.67 per cent at 40.38 lakh mt in April-July 2002 as against 34.32 lakh mt in the corresponding period last year. This is inclusive of Shri Digvijay Cement Company.
Cement
production and dispatches for the month of July 2002 stood
at 9.80 lakh mt and 9.93 lakh mt, registering a growth
of 32.93 per cent and 38.60 per cent, respectively, over
July 2001.
In addition, clinker exports for the period April-July 2002 rose to 417.23 per cent at 0.91 lakh mt as against 0.18 lakh mt during April-July 2001.
Cement exports for the period April-July 2002 rose to 99.58 per cent at 0.35 lakh mt as against 0.18 lakh mt during April-July 2001.
