HDFC allots over 5.16 lakh equity shares to employees

Housing Development Finance Corporation Ltd has allotted 5,16,490 equity shares of Rs2 each in exercise of a stock option for employees.

Post allotment, the paid-up equity share capital of the corporation would stand at Rs292,57,86,170, consisting of 146,28,93,085 equity shares of Rs2 each, HDFC said in a filing with the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE).

The HDFC stock fell 2.52 per cent to Rs687.05 on the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE). Dewan Housing Finance Corporation which initially fell 11.5 per cent, later recovered to close at Rs301, still down 4.88 per cent.

The Central Bank stock was down 8.02 per cent and BoI down 5.88 per cent while PNB closed 3.10 per cent down.

Shares of LIC Housing Finance fell sharply by around 20 per cent to a low of Rs1,030. The stock closed with a loss of 18.32 per cent on the BSE.

Shares of private sector financial services company Money Matters Financial Services also fell 20 per cent to close at Rs531.20.

Realty stocks were also hit by the unfolding loan scandal involving major lenders and real estate firms.

DB Realty, one of the several realty firms named in the FIR, fell by around 20 per cent. The stock closed with a loss of 16.23 per cent at Rs287.58.
