Mumbai: India''''s top motorcycle manufacturer Hero Honda Motors has sold 288,027 units of two-wheelers in the November month this year, an increase of about 3 per cent from the numbers sold in the same month in 2006.

The sales were mainly due to demand in the festival season and also due to the launch of the company's new 150cc Hunk, launched in October this year which the company said received a good 'initial response.'

Hero Honda Motors (HHML) has reported a 2.8 per cent increase in its vehicle sales in November at 288,027 units against 280,171 units in the same month in 2006.

With these numbers, Hero Honda Motors has reported selling five lakh units of vehicles in the festive season this year. The company said this was much like last year's record festive season performance, when it showed similar retail numbers and was especially significant as the two-wheeler industry was experiencing a slowdown. With this, Hero Honda Motor's cumulative sales during the January- November have increased to 30,68,519 units.

Japan's Honda Motor Co and India''''s Hero Group hold 26 per cent each in Hero Honda Motors, which controls almost 50 per cent the Indian motorbike market. A company statement said Hero Honda Motor's consistent performance has been possible due to its multi-focal strategy of bringing in new products across segments, supporting them with strong communication and augmenting its distribution network.
