The New Lancer's appearance has been modified by introducing chrome grill with clear lens headlamps, two-tone bumper, liquid paint finish color options, door sash black, rear spoiler with high mounted stop lamp and a full wheel cover. Internal modifications include electric mirrors, magazine pocket, key less entry and anti theft alarm, central locking, cell phone pockets, rear defogger, rear AC ducts, high back rear seat with central arm rest, shoulder height adjustment front seat belts, anti skid pedals, front cup holder and cell phone pocket. It also has fabric upholstery, Kenwood music system, designer fabric with matching molded door trims and beige eye panels.

S.C Gupta, vice president, Hindustan Motors, said, "Thus far, the Lancer has been received very well by the Indian market and end consumer; getting great reviews and most recently the 'TNS voice of the customer' award. In a highly competitive market, the new Lancer LX offers strong performance and styling at a price tag that says affordability and value. The real difference that we are making is in the uniformity of the price nationwide, basically allowing the customer to purchase the car at the same price from anywhere in the country. The revamped new look Lancer stands to score a niche above the other vehicles in its segment, by giving the customer more than one reason to buy the car."

The LX range is available in 1.5-litre, 1.8 litre petrol and 2-litre diesel. The car also comes in the XL range (1.5 litre petrol and 2.0 litre diesel) and the LE range (1.8 litre automatic and 2.0 litre diesel)

Another feature of the new LX model of Lancer is that its red MMC logo at the rear has been magnified and has also been introduced on the steering wheel.
