10 Feb 2010

Capgemini today presented the first Capgemini Leadership Award for Innovation to HSBC at the Nasscom - Capgemini Global Leadership Awards held in Mumbai.

Capgemini and Nasscom created the Capgemini Leadership Award for Innovation to recognise clients who have adopted innovative approaches to drive business excellence and technology leadership.

HSBC and Capgemini  have collaborated on developing innovative solutions  that include a platform for cards and collections servicing, which has been deployed across multiple countries enabling HSBC to introduce new offerings at a faster rate and significantly increase business volume processing.

The platform's architecture enabled deployment across locations with minimal customisation, lower cost and reduced time than HSBC's previous process.

Accepting the award on behalf of HSBC, David A J Smith, CEO and global head, HSBC Global Technology, said, ''Sustainable business requires the nurturing of customer relationships and providing a consistent, high quality service. This award is a recognition of how HSBC is utilising cutting-edge technology to standardise products across geographies, thereby allowing it faster speed-to-market. I am honoured to accept this award that highlights HSBC's innovative approach to drive business and technology leadership.''

HSBC is Capgemini's largest financial services client and in 1994 the two companies collaborated to establish an offshore centre in India, which also makes HSBC one of the first clients to deploy Capgemini's Rightshore global delivery model.

''This award recognizes clients who embody the spirit of innovation, demonstrated through business and technology foresight,'' said Salil Parekh, CEO, financial services, India and Asia Pacific. "We are honored along with NASSCOM to present the inaugural Leadership Innovation award to HSBC.''
