IFS of Sweden customises ERP II to cater to Indian business

Mumbai: Industrial and Financial Systems (IFS) has announced the launch of a competence centre at MDI (Management Development Institute), Gurgaon. The centre is first of breed in India and is directed towards creating awareness about the benefits of a component-based technology enterprise system.

Says IFS Asia Pacific president Mark Rabjohns: "This new IFS centre at MDI Gurgaon gives us an opportunity to demonstrate the flexibility, speed and extreme user-friendliness of our enterprise systems in real time and in response to Indian conditions as they obtain on the ground and client by client. I am sure this will substantially boost understanding of why IFS technology is considered No 1 in enterprise system around the globe."

Component-based technology was invented by IFS and allows for a highly customised implementation of both standard and e-business applications on a strictly as-needed basis. It allows phase-by-phase rapid implementation with a consequently quick return on investment. It gives the option of selecting any combination of components based on business priorities and budget constraints. Upgrades, too, are easier.

"A customer's ability to pick and choose the exact functionality required is a major advantage of this component-based enterprise system and is the key reason for the popularity of IFS applications," says IFS India country manager Dr Chandan Chowdhury.

Jaiswal is a certified ERP consultant and is a member of the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) expert panel on ICT for small and medium enterprises (SMEs). IFS has a centre of excellence in Information Management (CEXIM) set up with the support of the European Union that helps SMEs in adopting IT for business excellence and work closely with CII.
