India becomes 4th domestic FedEx service market

Bangalore: India has become the fourth domestic express delivery market for the US-based FedEx  has introduced FedEx India, the world's largest express transportation company.

The introduction of the new domestic delivery service in the country was announces by Robert W. Elliott, president, FedEx Express, Europe, Middle East, Indian Subcontinent and Africa.

FedEx India next-business-day domestic express service for commercial and non-commercial consignments to 50 major cities from 14 cities - Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Chennai, Coimbatore, Faridabad, Ghaziabad, Gurgaon, Hyderabad, Jaipur, Kolkata, Mumbai, New Delhi, Noida, Pune.

''As one of the world's fastest-growing economic markets, India has great untapped business potential,'' said Kenneth F. Koval, vice president, operations, FedEx Express, India. ''The 14 cities selected for FedEx India were singled out for their highest commercial potential,'' he added.

The addition of India follows the company's domestic express service launches in China, Mexico and the UK.

FedEx said its service toIndia would include real-time online tracking, on-call pick up and the FedEx money-back guarantee.

"Using a common account number, customers can enjoy the convenience of working with a single provider for both their domestic and international shipping needs,"the logistics company said ina statement.
