Intel rolls out new chips for business market

Intel Corp, the world''s top manufacturer of computer
chips, has unveiled its new vPro chip technology that
would make personal computers more secure for business.
A collection of Core 2 Duo processor, chipsets and other elements, vPro is Intel''s second platform technology after Centrino, which it announced in 2003.
The
vPro platform allows information technology managers to
turn on and turn off a desktop personal computer connected
to a company network, even if the hard drive has failed
or the operating system has been corrupted.
vPro could also help companies cut costs by allowing for securely turning potentially thousands of PCs on a network remotely that need to receive a software patch, Santa Clara, California-based Intel said.
vPro
also offers increased protection against software-based
attacks on computers on a network and also filter and
defend against virus and other threats, Intel said.
