Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) and Ola, the country’s leading ride-sharing company, announced a tie-up on Tuesday that would enable commuters to book the cabs on the IRCTC website and app for drops to their doorstep.

State-owned IRCTC also integrated Ola booking API on platforms to ensure last-mile connectivity to commuters. The partnership between the two will enable commuters to book Ola cabs and autos, besides opting for Ola Share services from their IRCTC app or website.

Customers can also choose to pre-book cabs up to seven days in advance or on reaching the railway station. Travellers will also be able to avail the booking facility as a part of tourism packages, and travel itineraries. Ola’s self-serving kiosk on IRCTC outlets at railway stations will also enable commuters to book cabs.

“We are proud to partner with IRCTC and this partnership truly stands for our vision to build robust and reliable mobility for a billion people,” said Saurabh Mishra, Head of Alliances at Ola. “Since inception, it is our constant endeavour to integrate our smart mobility solutions as an extension to existing public transportation infrastructure such as Railway Stations, Metros, and Airports, ensuring reliable first and last-mile connectivity for the commuters.”

According to an IRCTC spokesperson, the partnership will provide first and last-mile connectivity to commuters. “The ease of travel of our commuters is of prime importance to us and we believe that this association will help in delivering unparalleled convenience to the users on our platform, fostering and strengthening the culture of Digital India,” added the spokesperson.
